Bidding suspended as DGCA probes potential irregularities in Airport Project
The committee has been tasked with completing its work and delivering a final report to the appropriate authorities within 30 days from the issuance of the decision forming it.

The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has formed a committee to examine the bidding process for the operation, maintenance, and management of the passenger registration, early detection system, and border security training at Kuwait International Airport.
The formation of the committee, according to Al-Rai daily, is part of the DGCA’s commitment to maintain procedural integrity and ensure full compliance with transparency standards and relevant regulations. The added the committee will scrutinize every aspect of the bid to confirm adherence to approved guidelines and to safeguard the public interest.
The DGCA further announced that the bidding process has been temporarily suspended pending the outcome of the committee’s review. The committee has been tasked with completing its work and delivering a final report to the appropriate authorities within 30 days from the issuance of the decision forming it.
The move comes amid growing scrutiny after a local newspaper highlighted potential concerns regarding the bid.
The report suggested possible conflicts of interest, noting that the tender documents for the supply, installation, and operation of the system may have been tailored to favor a specific company participating in the process, as the requirements appeared to align with proprietary systems and equipment offered by that company.
The DGCA reaffirmed its commitment to upholding transparency and ensuring that all public tenders are conducted fairly, without preferential treatment, and in alignment with national regulations.
