Basic Education and Business Studies to end lectures early
The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training announced an early end to working hours, suspending all lectures starting after 12 noon at the Colleges of Basic Education and Business Studies on Thursday, November 14, and Tuesday, November 19.
This decision aims to support the successful organization of Kuwait’s sporting events to be held at Jaber International Sports Stadium.
Importantly, the decision to halt classes early on these two days was made in coordination between the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, and the Minister of Information and Culture, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, to support the success of the upcoming sporting events at Jaber International Stadium, where a large crowd is expected.
The Authority emphasized that the decision applies to the College of Basic Education and the College of Business Studies, given their proximity to the sporting event location. It also reaffirmed its commitment to working with all state agencies to ensure the success of major sporting events and other activities hosted by the country.
On the other hand, the Director General of the Authority, Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, explained that the decision followed a request from the Kuwait Football Association regarding the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers between the Kuwaiti national team and South Korea on Thursday; and Jordan on Tuesday. He noted that the decision would help facilitate the smooth entry and exit of fans and provide parking spaces at the Authority’s colleges, supporting the success of national events and activities.
The Director General emphasized to the deans of both colleges, about the importance of ensuring that students are compensated for the lectures missed due to the sporting event.
