His Excellency Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, OSP, awc, psc, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait, presented two calligraphy works by a Bangladeshi artist to Dr. Badr Ma’jun Al Dhafiri, Head of the Kuwait Grand Mosque Authority. The artworks will be displayed at the renowned Grand Mosque.
While the mosque’s galleries already feature calligraphies from countries including Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan, China, Spain, and the USA, Bangladesh had not yet been represented. As the fourth largest Muslim-majority country, Bangladesh’s contribution marks a new addition to the mosque’s international collection.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait took the initiative to commission and hand over these two pieces, showcasing the talent of a young Bangladeshi calligraphy artist and strengthening cultural ties between Bangladesh and Kuwait.
