Baker Hughes expands Kuwait footprint, wins KOC multi-year artificial lift contract

. . . to enhance oil production with advanced ESP systems

Baker Hughes has secured a multi-year contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to supply advanced artificial lift systems and associated services aimed at boosting oil and gas production across Kuwait’s fields.

Under the agreement, Baker Hughes will deliver electrical submersible pumps (ESPs), along with installation, monitoring and maintenance services. The systems will be integrated with the company’s FusionPro intelligent production drive and Leucipa automated field production solution, enhancing ESP reliability, optimizing operational performance and reducing non-productive time, MEED magazine reports.

The award builds on a contract signed in the third quarter, under which Baker Hughes was selected to provide advanced wireline and perforation technologies, including logging services designed to improve reservoir evaluation and recovery efficiency, according to news reports.

Baker Hughes noted that its artificial lift technologies have been deployed in Kuwait for nearly two decades, establishing a strong track record for reliability and operational efficiency in mature fields.

The company operates a 25,000-square-meter workshop in Kuwait dedicated to equipment testing and failure analysis for artificial lift systems.

Earlier this year, Baker Hughes also signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a research and development center at Ahmadi Innovation Valley, supporting local technology development and strengthening workforce capabilities in Kuwait’s upstream oil and gas sector.
