Azerbaijan ambassador hosts ghabqa for media
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to the country, Emil Karimov, praised the Kuwaiti-Azerbaijani relations, which he described as distinguished and close, noting that the number of Kuwaiti tourists to his country reached 30,000 last year.
This came in a press statement on the sidelines of an iftar banquet held in honor of journalists on Thursday, March 28 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
He said: We are working with Kuwait to strengthen cooperation between us in all fields, noting that the trade volume between the two countries does not rise to the required level, as it reached 650 thousand dollars last year, noting at the same time the presence of Azeri food products in Kuwaiti markets.
He explained that the embassy has an ambition to raise the number of tourists to 100,000 annually by promoting tourism in Azerbaihan. He revealed that the second joint committee between the two countries will be held in its third session in Kuwait before the end of this year, stressing that this committee prepares the general framework for discussing ways of cooperation between the two sides in all fields.
He also called for investment in his country, especially in the liberated areas, noting that owning land in his country requires establishing an investment company.
He also indicated that his country is preparing to host COP 29 this year in order to confront the climate change facing the world
He stressed his keenness to communicate with Kuwaiti society by visiting diwaniyas during the holy month and attending Ramadan ghabqas, considering that this tradition, which he described as good, enhances communication between members of society, noting that diwaniyas are a community culture that distinguishes Kuwait from other countries.
