A tragic fire broke out aboard a ship loaded with methanol at the Kaveh Methanol Company dock in Deyr Port, in Iran’s southern Bushehr Province, killing at least three people.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:05 a.m. today (Wednesday), according to Mojtaba Khaledi, spokesperson for the Iranian Red Crescent.
“Sadly, three individuals died at the scene,” Khaledi confirmed, adding that rescue operations are ongoing. “Two others remain trapped inside the vessel, raising concerns that the death toll may rise.”
Authorities have yet to announce the cause of the fire as emergency teams continue their efforts, reports Al-Rai.
