Asians in police custody after botched attempt to smuggle over 1,100 bottles of alcohol

In a continued crackdown on smuggling operations, officers from the General Department of Narcotics Control arrested three Asian nationals who attempted to smuggle a substantial quantity of liquor into Kuwait through one of the country’s seaports.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,120 bottles of foreign-made alcohol, professionally concealed in an attempt to bypass customs inspections. The suspects employed sophisticated methods to hide the contraband, indicating a high level of planning and experience.
In a statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior affirmed that this arrest falls under the broader framework of intensified security efforts carried out by the Criminal Security Sector to combat the trafficking and smuggling of drugs and alcohol.
“This successful operation is part of the ministry’s comprehensive campaign to track down violators of the law and protect society from the dangers posed by narcotics and illegal substances,” the statement noted.
Authorities confirmed that the three suspects, along with the seized alcohol, have been referred to the competent judicial authorities to face appropriate legal action.
This operation is part of a series of recent anti-smuggling achievements. Just hours earlier, security teams thwarted an attempt to smuggle 110 kilograms of hashish and 6,000 Captagon pills through Shuwaikh Port. In another case, two individuals were arrested for attempting to use a drone to smuggle drugs into the central prison.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to maintaining public security, stressing that its specialized units will continue to carry out rigorous inspections and campaigns to deter any attempts to undermine the safety of the nation.
