Arafat Day on June 5 and Eid Al-Adha on June 6, 2025

The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center has announced that the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH will astronomically fall on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Accordingly, the Arafat Day will be observed on Thursday, June 5, with Eid Al-Adha set to follow on Friday, June 6, 2025.

In a press release, the center explained that the crescent moon of Dhu al-Hijjah will be born following the conjunction at dawn on Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi’dah 29 (May 27).

That same evening, the crescent will be visible in the Kuwaiti sky for up to 43 minutes after sunset, providing favorable conditions for sighting. Across Arab and Islamic capitals, visibility of the crescent will range between 40 and 58 minutes.

The center confirmed that these dates are based on astronomical calculations and may vary depending on official moon-sighting decisions in different countries.
