The Court of Appeal has overturned the lower court’s death penalty against a Kuwaiti citizen who is accused of murdering his house driver in the Saad Al-Abdullah area, and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

The victim’s body was buried in a deserted area near the Amghara scrap yard, according to court papers.

According to the Criminal Security Sector, the suspect was arrested by the Jahra Governorate Criminal Investigation Department (Saad Al-Abdullah Investigation Office) after blood-stained clothes were found in the trash, reports Al-Rai daily.

Investigators stepped up their efforts, examining surveillance footage that captured the suspect disposing of the blood-stained clothing. Following the vehicle’s route, authorities were led to the location, where traces of blood were found inside the car.

During questioning, the accused confessed to the premeditated murder, revealing the location of the body. A criminal case was subsequently registered, and the suspect was referred to the competent judicial authorities.
