‘Appeal’ orders MOH to pay 13 mln dinars to medical company for Covid-19 supplies

Attorney Dr. Muhammad Munawar Al-Mutairi announced that the Court of Appeal has issued a decisive ruling in one of the most notable cases stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The court ordered the Ministry of Health to pay a medical company 13,028,400 dinars in addition to 7 percent annual legal interest until full settlement, reports Al-Rai daily.

Dr. Al-Mutairi explained that the defense presented conclusive evidence and documentation proving the company’s full compliance with its contractual obligations during the pandemic, including the timely delivery of medical supplies that played a vital role in supporting national efforts to combat COVID-19. Despite receiving the goods in full, the ministry had refused to make payment.

He stressed that honoring contracts and fulfilling obligations cannot be disregarded under the pretext of exceptional circumstances or administrative reviews, noting that such adherence forms the cornerstone of trust in state dealings and ensures the stability of the business environment.
