Amiri Decree abolishes PART, transfers departments to Interior and Public Works

An Amiri decree has been issued to abolish the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport, with its functions redistributed between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Works.
Under the decree, the Land Transport Department and supervision of the Traffic Bank project will be transferred to the Ministry of Interior, while the remaining departments will move to the Ministry of Public Works.

The decree also addressed the final accounts of the Authority’s budget for the period from January 4, 2025, until the date of the decree, stipulating that the budget be transferred to the two ministries according to the departments they inherit, following coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
Furthermore, the decree empowers the Minister of Public Works to transfer any of the Authority’s employees deemed necessary to the ministries or other entities within six months of the decree’s implementation, ensuring that all transferred staff retain their rights and job grades.
