Amir welcomed at Élysée Palace; High-level talks with President Macron mark deepening bilateral ties

  • In honor of his official visit to the French Republic, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was received this afternoon with full honors at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

French President Emmanuel Macron personally welcomed His Highness and exchanged greetings with members of the Kuwaiti delegation, followed by introductions to senior French government officials.
Following the formal reception, official talks were held between the two sides. His Highness the Amir led the Kuwaiti delegation, while President Macron headed the French delegation.

Discussions centered on the strong, historic ties between the two friendly nations, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing cooperation across all sectors.

The talks centered on:

  • Strengthening bilateral relations for mutual benefit
  • Deepening strategic partnerships in political, economic, and cultural fields
  • Consultation and coordination on key regional and international developments
  • Exchanging perspectives on global challenges and areas of common concern

Following the talks and his participation in the Bastille Day military parade, His Highness the Amir sent a cable of thanks to President Macron, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and the Kuwaiti delegation during the visit, reports Al-Jarida daily.

“As I depart the French Republic, I extend my sincere thanks and deep appreciation for the cordial reception and generous hospitality that reflect the depth of the close and historic friendship between our two countries,” His Highness wrote.

He highlighted the constructive spirit of dialogue that marked all discussions during the visit and emphasized that the visit served as a key opportunity for “consultation and the exchange of visions on issues of shared interest.”

His Highness added: “I am confident that this successful visit will contribute to strengthening strategic partnerships and expanding the horizons of cooperation in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of our friendly peoples for a brighter and more prosperous future.”

In closing, the Amir extended an official invitation to President Macron to visit Kuwait at a time of his choosing, expressing eagerness to welcome him to Kuwaiti soil. He also conveyed best wishes for the continued health and success of the French President and further prosperity for the French people.
