Ambassador Jawaher reaffirms Kuwait’s commitment to human rights

Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs, Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Al-Duaij, has affirmed Kuwait’s strong commitment to enhancing international cooperation in the field of human rights, highlighting that Kuwait’s current membership in the UN Human Rights Council is a clear reflection of this dedication.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during her first official visit to the Republic of Austria, Sheikha Jawaher noted that the visit included a meeting with Austrian Foreign Ministry’s Human Rights Director, Ambassador Ulrike Puccik, at the ministry’s headquarters in Vienna.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

Ambassador Jawaher said discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, sharing expertise, and coordinating joint efforts in human rights-related forums and international organizations.

She emphasized Kuwait’s continued support for global human rights principles, both through regional initiatives and active partnerships with international institutions and stakeholders.
