ALSAYER honors winners at KNRC awards ceremony
Week-long national robotics competition backed by ALSAYER Group showcases bright minds, robots, drones at the Kuwait National Robotics Competition 2026

Innovation, teamwork and youthful ambition took center stage as the Kuwait National Robotics Competition (KNRC), strategically sponsored by ALSAYER Group, brought together some of the country’s brightest young minds in a week-long celebration of technology and creativity.
Held from February 1 to 8 across multiple age categories, the competition concluded with a vibrant awards ceremony on February 11, 2026, at the Kuwait University Conference Center.
The event was attended by Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, Kuwait University President Dr. Dina Al-Mailem, Director General of the Public Youth Authority Nasser Al-Sheikh, and Acting Dean of the College of Science at Kuwait University Dr. Haider Behbehani — reflecting strong national support for youth innovation and STEM education.

The championship transformed robotics into a dynamic learning arena, where students demonstrated not only technical expertise but also creativity, determination and teamwork. The competition featured four major categories — VEX IQ Robotics, VEX V5 Robotics, Drones Competition, and Seaperch Competition — each designed to challenge participants with real-world engineering and programming scenarios.
Throughout the week, teams navigated complex tasks, built and programmed robots, and solved technical challenges under competitive pressure. Beyond technical performance, the event emphasized essential life skills, encouraging participants to develop leadership, communication, organization and collaboration abilities while working toward shared goals.
ALSAYER Group highlighted its pride in supporting the competition as part of its commitment to advancing hands-on education in science, technology and innovation. Eng. Ibrahim Al-Fouzan, Senior Business Director at ALSAYER, described the fourth season of KNRC as a significant milestone that reflects growing integration between education and technological advancement.

He noted that the innovative solutions presented by students demonstrate a new generation fully aware of modern technological tools and capable of shaping the future.
Al-Fouzan also expressed appreciation to Kuwait University’s College of Science, the Ministry of Education, the Public Authority for Youth, and private-sector partners for their collective role in empowering young talent and strengthening Kuwait’s innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Haider Behbehani emphasized that the competition provides students with a valuable platform to test their abilities in demanding environments that require cooperation and critical thinking.

He pointed out that the VEX Robotics and aerial drone contests particularly showcased impressive levels of innovation, collaboration and structured problem-solving among participants.
Meanwhile, Eng. Nehad AlHaj Ali, Group Manager of the Corporate Excellence Department at ALSAYER Group, stressed that the event revealed the exceptional potential of Kuwait’s youth.
She noted that students demonstrated remarkable abilities to design, coordinate and develop technological solutions under pressure, adding that witnessing young participants programming robots and racing hydrogen-powered vehicles offers strong confidence in Kuwait’s technological future.
As the competition concluded, KNRC once again proved to be more than a contest — it served as a platform for inspiration, learning and discovery. Supported by ALSAYER Group and other partners, the championship reinforced Kuwait’s growing position as a regional hub for robotics education and innovation, while nurturing a generation ready to lead the country into a technology-driven future.
