ALSAYER Group drives Kuwait’s future innovators forward in Hydrogen Vehicle Racing Championship

ALSAYER Group, in partnership with Kuwait University’s College of Science and Horizon Educational, has successfully advanced to the third stage of the Horizon Educational Hydrogen Vehicle Racing Championship program.

On February 14, 2026, student teams gathered at Kuwait University to participate RC car inspections and in the experimental race trials, marking a pivotal milestone in their preparation for the upcoming national championship.

This stage builds on the earlier phases of training and technical workshops, where students gained knowledge in clean energy, hydrogen fuel cell technologies, and engineering design. Now, the focus has shifted to hands-on practice racing, giving teams the opportunity to test their vehicles under competition-like conditions.

Assistant Professor of Computer Science Dr. Nora Al-Jeri added that the trials embody the College of Science’s mission to connect academic learning with practical innovation, preparing students to excel in both national and international forums.

Mr. Mohammed Naser Al-Sayer, Executive Board Member and Chairman of the Sustainability Committee, expressed pride in seeing students transition from classroom training to live racing, highlighting that this stage develops resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

He also emphasized that the mock races are essential for students to experience the dynamics of real competition, from vehicle performance to teamwork under pressure.

Eng. Nehad AlHaj Ali, Group Manager of Corporate Excellence at ALSAYER Group, explained that the mock races allow students to refine their designs and strategies, ensuring stronger performance in the championship.

He also noted that this practice competition is a crucial step in the championship system, bridging the gap between technical preparation and full-scale racing.

The experimental race trials not only strengthen educational outcomes but also reinforce ALSAYER Group’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. By immersing students in a simulated competition environment, the program ensures they are fully prepared for the national championship in April 2026.
