Al Jazeera reported that Iranian cleric Alireza Arafi, a member of the Guardian Council, has been appointed as the jurist representative on Iran’s Leadership Council.
The council is responsible for temporarily carrying out the duties of the supreme leader until the Assembly of Experts elects a new leader, according to Peninsula Online.
Arafi will serve on the interim Leadership Council alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, forming the body tasked with overseeing leadership responsibilities during the transitional period.
