Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association, Kuwait marks Sir Syed Day 2025

The Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association, Kuwait (AMUOBA) organized the annual Sir Syed Day celebration to commemorate the legacy of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, founder of Aligarh Muslim University. The event reflected his enduring message of unity, education, and social progress.
The program brought together over 450 alumni, dignitaries, and guests from various professional and community backgrounds.
The event was attended by Chief Guest Eng. Mohammad Haji Ali Bousheri, Former Minister of Electricity, Water & Renewable Energy, Kuwait; special guest Shri Manas Raj Patel, First Secretary (Community Welfare & Labor), Embassy of India; and Guests of Honor Padma Shri Awardee H.E. Shaikha Ali Jaber Al-Sabah, Ms. Arfa Khanum Sherwani, journalist; Eng. Wael Al Jassem, Manager of Mega Projects, Petrochemical Industries Company.

Other notable attendees included Urdu poet Naved Abuzar, AMU alumnus Khalid Al-Anezi, Mohammad Imran Ali Khan from the Alumni Association Jubail, and representatives of various community organizations.
The event featured speeches, poetry recitations, and an interactive quiz. It opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Ahmed Danish and translation by Aariz Adil.
Student presenters Hiba Warisha, Aysha Jamil, and Samia Mohammad Maseeh were commended for their participation. The program was anchored by Ms. Shazia Mansoor.

President Aslam Parvez welcomed the gathering and expressed appreciation for the guests, alumni, and sponsors. The poetry session by Naved Abuzar, Aamir Qidwai, and Masood Hassas was well received.
A key feature of the evening was the release of the annual souvenir “Samar-e-Syed”, edited by Aslam Parvez and the editorial board, showcasing alumni achievements, articles, and creative works.
The quiz session, conducted by Mohammad Khurshid Anwer, engaged the audience throughout. The rendition of AMU’s anthem “Ye Mera Chaman Hai Mera Chaman”, led by Sabihuddin, added to the spirit of the celebration.

Mementos were presented to sponsors in recognition of their support, coordinated by Shahnawaz Siddiqui and his team. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Vice President Tariq Waseem.
The event was organized under the leadership of President Aslam Parvez, with the support of the AMUOBA Executive Council.
The Sir Syed Day celebration reaffirmed the association’s commitment to promoting education, unity, and community service — the core values envisioned by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
