Alaqraa and Fahmi advance to PFL MENA finals; Saudi star Hattan Alsaif to make pro debut

The 2025 PFL MENA semifinals delivered high-octane action at The Arena, setting the stage for an explosive ‘finals night’ in Al Khobar on Friday, December 5.

Top contenders in the Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight divisions secured their spots, with standout performances from fighters across the region.

In the Welterweight main event, Kuwait’s Mohammad Alaqraa (9-1) needed only 21 seconds to defeat Egypt’s Ayman Galal (4-2) via TKO, landing a devastating leg kick that ended the fight immediately.

Alaqraa, last season’s runner-up, will face Badreddine Diani (10-3), who earned his ‘Finals’ berth with a split decision victory over Amir Fazli (7-4).

Iraq’s Mohammad Fahmi (6-0) maintained his undefeated streak in the Lightweight semifinal, submitting Iran’s Mohsen Mohammadseifi (8-3) with a rear-naked choke at 4:25 of the first round.

Fahmi will clash with fellow unbeaten Salah Eddine Hamli (10-0), who earlier submitted Souhil Tairi (8-7), in a battle for the Lightweight Championship.

Saudi fans were treated to a thrilling performance by local prospect Malik Basahel (2-0), who claimed his second professional win via second-round submission over Egypt’s Ahmed Mostafa (3-2).

In the Bantamweight division, Egypt’s Islam Youssef (7-2) secured a unanimous decision win against Moroccan Xavier Alaoui (16-7), setting up a ‘Finals’ showdown with Nawras Abzakh (14-6).

In the Featherweight bracket, Islam Reda (14-1) dominated Morocco’s Taha Bendaoud (5-1) to earn an unanimous decision and a ‘Finals’ matchup against Yanis Ghemmouri (13-3).

The 2025 PFL MENA Finals will also feature the highly anticipated professional debut of Saudi MMA star Hattan Alsaif, who made history last year as the first Saudi woman signed to a major MMA promotion.

Alsaif, undefeated in four amateur bouts—all by stoppage—will now take her talents to the professional stage, adding another historic chapter to the region’s MMA scene.
