Al-Yousef chairs civil defense meeting to bolster Kuwait’s crisis preparedness

In light of ongoing regional developments, Kuwait’s Civil Defense Committee convened a high-level meeting to strengthen national readiness and enhance the ability of government agencies to respond effectively to emergencies and disasters. The meeting, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, was held at the Crisis and Disaster Management Department headquarters in the Nawaf Al-Ahmad Building.

Present at the meeting were the committee’s vice chairman, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Ali Al-Adwani, and representatives from 32 government agencies, reports Al-Rai daily.

The committee discussed a range of strategic topics aimed at reinforcing national preparedness and ensuring the safety and security of society. Central to the discussions were the mechanisms governing field evacuation and shelter teams, the need for enhanced coordination among agencies, and the activation of early warning systems. The importance of unified control centers was emphasized to enable faster decision-making and efficient resource allocation during crises.

Participants also explored ways to unify response efforts within an integrated system that promotes swift, coordinated action during emergencies. The focus remained on increasing field efficiency and communication across agencies to deal effectively with any national security or civil defense challenges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef underscored the urgency of remaining in a constant state of readiness. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, proactive planning, and regularly updating crisis response plans. He also called for continuous joint exercises, real-time data updates, and intensified training programs based on international best practices.

“The security of Kuwait and the safety of its citizens are a top priority,” Al-Yousef affirmed, urging all agencies to strengthen cooperation and maintain the highest levels of vigilance in these uncertain times.
