Al-Roumi inspects Al-Shaddadiya hazardous materials and Search & Rescue centers

The Chief of the General Fire Force, Major General Talal Al-Roumi, conducted an inspection visit on Friday evening to the Al- Shaddadiya Center for Hazardous Materials and the Search and Rescue Center. He was accompanied by Brigadier General Omar Abdulaziz Hamad, Acting Deputy Chief of the Fire Control Sector.

During the visit, Major General Al-Roumi reviewed the ongoing operations and safety protocols used in handling high-risk incidents, particularly those involving hazardous substances and emergency rescue missions.

The inspection included a comprehensive field tour of both facilities, where he was briefed by center managers on procedures for managing chemical and biological incidents, preventive measures in place, and the strategies used to ensure operational security.

The briefing also covered training programs designed to enhance the technical expertise of specialized personnel, as well as the response mechanisms and emergency plans implemented by the Search and Rescue Center. Al-Roumi was shown the latest equipment and technologies used in dealing with hazardous materials and executing rescue operations.

Major General Al-Roumi commended the high level of technical readiness and the professionalism of the staff at both centers. He stressed the importance of continuous development and modernization efforts to keep pace with evolving challenges in this critical field, thereby reinforcing the General Fire Force’s mission to safeguard lives and ensure public safety.
