Al-Nuwaif, Al-Omar pay visit to Container Inspection Center

Head of the General Administration of Customs, Yousef Al-Nuwaif, accompanied by Deputy Head for Ports, Research and Customs Investigation Affairs, Saleh Al-Omar, conducted an inspection tour of the container inspection center at Shuwaikh Port and the control and monitoring room.
The tour aimed to review workflow and customs procedures, assess technical and operational readiness, and evaluate the role of modern systems in supporting real-time monitoring and control, as well as enhancing performance efficiency at customs ports, reports Al-Rai daily.

The officials also reviewed the duties of the control room and its central role in coordinating field efforts, monitoring operations, and responding immediately to developments, contributing to stronger customs security and smoother procedural flow.
During the visit, Al-Nuwaif stressed the importance of continuing to develop technical infrastructure, supporting national manpower, and strengthening integration between field operations and technical systems to achieve the highest levels of readiness and efficiency.

He noted that these efforts are essential to protecting the country and facilitating trade in accordance with approved legal frameworks.
The tour forms part of the General Administration of Customs’ ongoing plan for periodic inspections of key customs facilities to ensure their readiness to meet evolving challenges, reflecting the administration’s commitment to modernizing the customs system and adopting best institutional practices.
