Al-Mutair seeks recusal of Criminal Court panel in ongoing case

The Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Ahmed Al-Sadi, has referred the second case filed against former MP Mohammed Al-Mutair — on charges of insulting the Amir — to the President of the Court to schedule a hearing date.

Al-Mutair submitted a formal request to dismiss the current court panel, a legal move often taken when the defendant believes there may be grounds for judicial bias or procedural concerns.

It is noteworthy that Al-Mutair is facing another case involving the same charge before the Court of Appeal, in which he was previously acquitted by the Court of First Instance.
