Al-Mukhaizeem chairs meeting to monitor regional developments, environmental risks

In light of ongoing regional tensions, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, chaired a high-level coordination meeting yesterday at the ministry’s headquarters to review Kuwait’s preparedness for any potential environmental repercussions.
The meeting brought together key officials including Undersecretary Dr. Adel Al-Zamel, senior ministry leaders, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) Director General Dr. Faisal Al-Humaidan, a team of KISR experts, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health Dr. Munther Al-Hasawi, and Radiation Protection Department Director Dr. Nasser Al-Juwaisri, reports Al-Rai daily.
The session focused on assessing readiness to respond to environmental threats that could arise from escalating regional conflicts. As part of this effort, several KISR experts — Dr. Abdullah Al-Anzi, Dr. Yousef Al-Asiri, and Dr. Mansour Ahmed—presented scientific studies and simulation models aimed at analyzing environmental risks and supporting decision-making.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Al-Mukhaizeem stressed the importance of continued inter-agency coordination and the implementation of proactive precautionary measures to safeguard the country’s critical resources and public health.
He also extended his gratitude to KISR and the Ministry of Health for their scientific and technical contributions in enhancing Kuwait’s environmental resilience amid uncertain regional conditions.
