“Al-Jalal” aiming to achieve highest quality in education as per international standards

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, affirmed the determination to implement the directives of the wise leadership in working to develop policies and strategies that ensure achieving the highest levels of quality in education that are in line with international standards.

The Board of Directors of the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance, held its 27th meeting, that was headed by, Minister Al-Jalal, and attended by members of the Board of Directors, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education in Sanabel Tower today, Thursday.

Al-Jalal explained after the meeting that the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance is a strategic partner, in achieving Kuwait’s educational vision, and that its role is pivotal in building confidence in education outcomes and developing national competencies, which is in line with the requirements of the labor market.

Additionally, Al-Jalal stressed about his determination to implement the directives of the wise leadership; in working to develop policies and strategies that ensure achieving the highest levels of quality in education, which are in line with international standards. As these will contribute in raising the efficiency of educational outcomes, and simultaneously achieve the aspirations of the nation’s children.

On the other hand, Director General of the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education, Dr. Jassim Al-Ali, indicated that the Council discussed the items on its agenda in its meeting, where the Council approved minutes of the twenty-sixth meeting. Also reviewed the report on following up on the recommendations of the Board of Directors in the previous meeting that was held on March 28.

Al-Ali pointed out that the Council reviewed and discussed several related topics in its meeting, including; presenting Ministerial Resolution No. (284-2024), which was issued on September 10th, regarding assigning the task of determining the lists of distinguished universities for scholarship students, to the National Authority for Academic Accreditation.

Furthermore, the Council also discussed a memorandum regarding the criteria for selecting higher education institutions and distinguished programs in the United States of America and in the European countries.

Al-Ali stated that the Board of Directors discussed the draft renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in the United Kingdom (QAA), and the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education, in the State of Kuwait.

On a significant note, Al-Ali appreciated the interest and follow-up from Minister Al-Jalal on the work of the National Authority, and his directives to achieve the highest quality standards to reach highly efficient educational outcomes.

He stressed that the Authority is working to continue its efforts with all seriousness and diligence, which are meant to achieve these directives, and to enhance close partnership with universities and colleges.

These efforts will ensure that educational programs are compatible with international quality standards and labor market requirements, to prepare promising generations that will lead the future of Kuwait to ‘broader horizons of progress and prosperity’.
