“Al-Awadhi” enhancing health system with latest ‘Global Radiology Devices’
During the celebration of ‘World Radiology Day’ the critical contributions of radiographers to healthcare were highlighted, emphasizing the essential role of medical imaging in advancing modern healthcare in Kuwait.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi confirmed that the latest radiology devices are now available in the ministry’s hospitals, which will enhance the healthcare system.
Al-Awadhi commended the skilled national medical teams for their professionalism in operating the advanced equipment, ensuring high-quality care for patients.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during a celebration for ‘World Radiology Day’ on November 8, Al-Awadhi emphasized that the health system is built on four main pillars: doctors, nursing, laboratories, and radiology.
Al-Awadhi highlighted the importance of the radiology department in diagnosis, noting its role in incorporating modern scientific specializations, technology, digital health, and artificial intelligence, all of which are aimed at improving patient care.
Whereas, Al-Awadhi stated that by introducing digital health, equipping the health system with the latest radiology devices across various specialties, integrating examinations, and staying aligned with scientific advancements, Kuwait is positioning itself among the ranks of advanced countries.
As a matter of pride, Al-Awadhi also praised the high level of professionals in the health sector, particularly doctors and technicians in the radiology departments, emphasizing that investing in the human element is the best form of investment, one that brings long-term benefits to Kuwait.
Furthermore, Dr. Buthaina Al-Kandari, Head of the Radiology and Radiotherapy Departments Council at the Ministry of Health, stated that Kuwait’s participation in ‘World Radiology Day’ aims to raise awareness about the crucial role radiology plays in ensuring safe patient care.
Al-Kandari emphasized the importance of understanding the vital contributions of doctors, technicians, and radiologists in the healthcare system.
Highlighting the contribution from Kuwait’s radiology fraternity, Al-Kandari added that the Radiology Departments Council is dedicated to continually developing radiology services by providing the latest devices and technologies that meet international standards. She also emphasized the importance of training specialized medical and technical personnel to ensure the highest quality diagnostic care for patients.
Al-Kandari expressed her appreciation for the Ministry’s unwavering support and its commitment to providing high-quality health services. Al-Kandari also praised the efforts of the participating radiologists, department heads, and Dr. Khalida Al-Asousi, Head of the Media Committee in the Radiology Departments Council, for her efforts in organizing and preparing the celebration.
In turn, Dr. Latifa Al-Kandari, Head of the Radiology Department at Al-Adan Hospital, stated that, today we made sure to allocate sections for all types of X-rays, Mammograms, CT scans, MRIs, and other radiology services to educate the public on the importance of radiology in the accurate diagnosis of diseases.
Al-Kandari also clarified that the belief that radiation causes tumors is false. She explained that each type of radiation follows specific international standards, which are strictly supervised by the Radiation Protection Committee in Kuwait.
Emphasizing the ministry’s commitment Al-Kandari, explained that these standards are strictly adhered to international regulations, ensuring that those working in the field of radiation do not exceed the approved limits.
On the other hand, Al-Asousi stated that World Radiology Day is an annual event aimed at raising awareness about the crucial role radiology plays in ensuring safe patient care.
Al-Asousi emphasized the importance of improving the understanding of the vital contributions of radiologists and radiology technologists within the healthcare system.
In addition, Al-Asousi stated that the purpose of the celebration is to highlight the vital role of radiology departments in diagnosing various diseases and determining the appropriate treatment methods, ultimately ensuring better health outcomes for patients.
