‘Al-Ajari Center’ announces winter farewell in first week of Ramadan

The Al-Ajari Scientific Center announced that the third phase of the scorpion season, known as the “Fat Scorpion,” marks the final stage of winter. This season will end in the first week of Ramadan, concluding on March 7, 2025. During this period, winter bids farewell and the transition to spring begins.
The center added that this period is characterized by atmospheric instability, with temperatures fluctuating between highs and lows.
Importantly, the center explained that the first week of Ramadan will coincide with the third phase of the Scorpion season, known as the “Fat Scorpion,” and the beginning of the Hameemin season’s first phase, “Saad Al-Saud,” on March 8, 2025, lasting for 13 days. This period includes the “Old Woman’s Cold Days,” where temperatures fluctuate, causing a brief return of cold after warmer days. It is often referred to as “the crazy seller of his cloak,” symbolizing the hasty shift to lighter clothing due to the illusion of sustained warmth.
The center stated that the name “Fat Scorpion” refers to the abundance of grass during this period, leading to well-fed livestock that gain weight and produce more fat. This coincides with the arrival of spring, the flourishing of plants, and the prosperity of pastures.
