Airport Customs foil drug smuggling attempts, seize hashish and Tramadol

The General Administration of Customs, through the Airport Customs Department, has thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle narcotics into the country from India, according to an official statement.
In the first case, an arriving passenger through Terminal 5 (T5) was arrested carrying 40 pieces of hashish weighing a total of 205 grams.
In a second incident, another traveler arriving via Terminal 1 (T1) was apprehended with 37 pieces of hashish weighing 188 grams, reports Al-Jarida daily..
A third seizure at Terminal 1 involved a passenger found in possession of five pieces of hashish weighing 26 grams, in addition to four Tramadol tablets without a medical prescription.
Seizure reports were prepared in all cases, and the suspects, along with the confiscated substances, were referred to the Directorate-General for Drug and Alcohol Control for further legal action.
The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its continued vigilance and strict monitoring at all customs ports, stressing its commitment to combating attempts to smuggle banned substances into the country. The authority highlighted ongoing coordination with relevant agencies to safeguard society’s security and safety.
