Air India Express flight returns to Calicut mid-air due to technical issue

An Air India Express Calicut to Doha flight IX 375 carrying 188 travelers (passengers crew) bound for Doha made a precautionary return to Calicut International Airport today after experiencing a technical malfunction shortly after take-off.

The aircraft departed at 9:07 am IST but safely returned and landed at 11:12 am, following an issue with the cabin air conditioning system. Authorities confirmed that it was not an emergency landing, but a preventive safety measure, according to Indian news reports.

An Air India Express spokesperson said an alternate aircraft was arranged on priority, and passengers were provided with refreshments during the delay. The replacement flight was scheduled to depart by 1:30 pm.

“All guests were deboarded safely and are being looked after with utmost care,” the airline added.
