‘Agreement between KAC and Visit Kuwait marks a milestone toward a modern tourism industry’

The Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, affirmed that the signing of a cooperation agreement between Kuwait Airways and the national tourism platform “Visit Kuwait” represents a qualitative leap in efforts to build a modern tourism industry grounded in partnership and integration.

In his speech at the signing ceremony, Al-Mutairi said the agreement reflects Kuwait’s commitment to developing a diversified economy driven by innovation, knowledge, and human and cultural expertise, emphasizing the role of national institutions in achieving this transformation, reports Al-Rai daily.

He explained that this collaboration with the national carrier is a practical model of institutional cooperation, highlighting the strategic integration between media and tourism in portraying Kuwait’s modern image in line with its regional and international stature.

Al-Mutairi noted that the initiative also aligns with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who all emphasize building a sustainable economy, strengthening Kuwait’s global presence, and investing in national capabilities.

He added that the agreement forms part of an integrated national strategy to establish a modern tourism communication network based on technology, creativity, and unified promotion under one national identity — one that reflects Kuwait’s cultural heritage and highlights its unique assets and historic role as a hub of civilization capable of competing globally.

“Tourism today is a vital economic and developmental sector that contributes to diversifying national income, supports investment and innovation, creates new opportunities for Kuwaiti youth, and strengthens cultural and human connections with the world,” Al-Mutairi said.

He explained that the agreement seeks to unify efforts between “Visit Kuwait” and Kuwait Airways to offer an integrated visitor experience combining comfort, authenticity, and modernity.

Al-Mutairi expressed his gratitude to Kuwait Airways for its initiative and cooperation, and to the Visit Kuwait team for their dedication and national effort, expressing hope that this partnership would pave the way for further innovative collaborations that support the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035 and strengthen the country’s position on the global tourism map.

Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, Al-Mutairi highlighted the positive impact of the “Visit Kuwait” platform since its launch, noting that it includes an interactive map of tourist sites, events, and the digital guide “Rashid,” which provides visitors with all necessary information. He also emphasized the media’s important role in enhancing the platform’s visibility and promoting tourism development in Kuwait.

For his part, Abdulmohsen Al-Fuqaan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Airways, said the agreement marks an important step in supporting Kuwait’s efforts to enhance its regional and global tourism and cultural presence.

He noted that Kuwait Airways, as the national carrier and Kuwait’s first ambassador to the world for over seven decades, is proud to contribute to the nation’s vision through this partnership. Al-Fuqaan described “Visit Kuwait” as a pioneering national initiative that helps visitors explore the country’s diverse tourism, entertainment, and cultural offerings.

He stressed that Kuwait Airways views its role as extending beyond commercial operations to a national mission — serving Kuwait and promoting its civilized image globally. Through this cooperation, the airline will work to unify efforts in promoting and enhancing national tourism.

Al-Fuqaan expressed hope that this partnership would serve as a model for institutional integration, reflecting the spirit of national collaboration inspired by Kuwait Vision 2035, and extended his appreciation to Minister Al-Mutairi for his support of initiatives that showcase Kuwait’s progress and cultural heritage.
