“Affairs” resumes “cooperatives” elections tomorrow amid stringent supervision and transparency

The Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the Department of Membership Affairs and Publicity of Cooperative Societies, will resume the elections to the Boards of Directors of “Cooperatives”, whose fiscal year and the legal term of their members have ended. The elections will be held tomorrow, Thursday.

Through the election of new members to the Board of Directors of Jaber Al-Ahmad Cooperative Society, Al-Jarida learned that the Cooperative Sector has developed a comprehensive plan for any upcoming cooperative elections that ensures strict oversight of the entire process.

This will be done without allowing any legal violations to occur, with the sole aim of controlling the voting process inside the committees, and preventing any gatherings or crowding outside them; that would hinder the course of the elections or affect their results.

According to the sources of the “Affairs”, there is extensive cooperation between the Ministry and the “Interior” in this regard, specifically to provide the appropriate security force with the number of voters of each “cooperative” separately.

This is a step to enable the elections to be secured in the required manner, and to organize the entry and exit of shareholders with ease and convenience.

Moreover, all the necessary measures will be taken against anyone who violates the legal framework of the elections, with immediate referral to the competent authorities, stressing that “Affairs” stands at the same distance from all candidates, and its primary goal is the success of the elections regardless of their results.

The sources mentioned that there is strictness regarding any illegal voting process. For example, the exploitation of civil cards (identities) of citizens traveling outside the country, and trying to use them incorrectly to vote in the elections, by activating the electronic link with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Ports Security Sector, which will stand as a bulwark against any attempts to manipulate or impersonate in this regard.

Furthermore it was also highlighted that once the identity is passed on the “affairs” devices specialized in elections, it will immediately appear whether the citizen is traveling outside the country or not. In case if he does travel, then the ministry will take necessary legal measures against the identity holder, who tried to exploit it in a manner punishable by law.

The Ministry also added that there is an automatic link with the Public Authority for Civil Information (Civil Card), which is based on whether the voter is allowed to vote according to his place of residence, which matches the association’s work area, stressing about the Ministry’s continuation of its approach aimed at expanding the use of automated systems, by developing an integrated plan.

This goes on to symbolize the Ministry’s main aim in creating a qualitative shift in the cooperation sector, especially during the holding of general assemblies and elections.

Primary School in “Care Homes”

Al Jarida learned from its sources that the Ministry of Social Affairs is close to completing all preparations for opening a school inside the social care home complex that will serve primary school students who are residents of the shelters.

It was further mentioned that the total number of current male and female students is 12, as coordination is being made with the Ministry of Education, to hire teachers for teaching subjects to students, and the installation of fingerprint devices to prove attendance and departure, has been completed.
