“Affairs Ministry” to amend legal status of kiosks in cooperatives

The Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the Cooperative Development Department in the Cooperative Sector, is currently coordinating with the Kuwait Municipality, to amend the legal status of kiosks and booths that are located inside central markets and cooperative branches, revealed Al-Jarida.

This amendment is being done in order to issue the necessary licenses for these kiosks and booths to practice their activity, so that they are not subject to violations that are being recorded against them whether by the ‘Municipality’ inspectors, or other relevant government agencies.

According to the sources of the “Affairs”, the kiosks and booths are not authorized by the “Municipality”, and the Ministry cannot grant or facilitate the process of obtaining illegal and unauthorized activities from the relevant authorities.

The sources also noted that out of keenness to create a set of activities that serve shareholders and achieve financial returns for cooperatives, the concerned administration held a series of meetings with representatives of the Municipality.

The meeting involved discussions to determine the activities that will be allowed for granting licenses to practice, provided that they do not cause inconvenience to the associations’ visitors or impede movement in emergency situations.

The sources added that among the activities offered are; women’s accessories, sweets, selling snacks, mobile phone accessories, and other activities.

It was also stated by the sources that the booths and kiosks may be collected in one place inside the cooperatives and reorganized to enable maximum benefit from them.

This should be done without affecting the cooperatives in any way, in light of complaints from some shareholders, about their lack of organization, and their presence in scattered places, inside the cooperatives.

Al-Shabo appointed as agent for “Care”

The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, issued an administrative decision assigning the Director of the Family Nursery Department at the Ministry, Dr. Saad Al-Shabo, to carry out the tasks and duties assigned to the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare Sector Affairs, Dr. Jassim Al-Kandari, in addition to his original work, for a period of one week, until the latter returns from his vacation.
