Ace KRM Panthers Crowned Champions of KCC T20 Summer League 2025
The KCC T20 Summer League 2025, powered by Almuzaini Exchange, came to a dramatic close at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground with Ace KRM Panthers emerging as champions after a breathtaking final against Ceylon Elite Cricket Club. The presentation ceremony was graced by Mr. Munaf Tisekar (Head of Corporate Cricket & HPC Member), Mr. Robert Dsouza (Head of Operations, KCC), and Mr. Muiz Ahmed (MEC Study Group – Principal Sponsor – Juniors Cricket), who presented the tournament awards.
Adnan Idrees of Tally Rangers was named Best Batsman with 327 runs and Best All-Rounder with 327 runs and 7 wickets, while Ahmed Mirza of Stack CC claimed Best Bowler with 12 wickets. The Player of the Final award went to Sankar Varthappan for his sensational knock of 100 runs off 52 deliveries, including 10 sixes and 5 fours.
In the final, Ceylon Elite CC captain Ravija won the toss and elected to bat first, leading from the front with an explosive 93-run innings. Usman supported brilliantly with a well-crafted half-century, propelling CECC to a commanding total of 223 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The chase began in blistering fashion as Ace KRM Panthers’ Sankar Varthappan launched a fierce assault on the bowlers, reaching his hundred in just 51 balls and nearly securing the target within the powerplay.
However, his dismissal sparked a flurry of wickets, keeping the match on edge. Just when the pressure was mounting, Khadar Valli stepped up with towering sixes that sealed a thrilling 4-wicket victory for the Panthers with four balls to spare.
In the post-match ceremony, Ceylon Elite CC were awarded the runners-up trophy, while Ace KRM Panthers lifted the coveted champions trophy amidst roaring celebrations.
