ACD, DCO discuss strategic collaboration to boost digital and regional connectivity

In a significant step to strengthen regional and digital ties across Asia, Secretary General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), H.E. Mr. Nasser Al Mutairi, held a high-level meeting with H.E. Mrs. Deemah AlYahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), during her official visit to Kuwait.

The meeting marked a significant milestone in fostering closer collaboration between the two organizations, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to aligning efforts in digital innovation, infrastructure, and regional connectivity.

Representing the largest intergovernmental forum in Asia with 35 member states, the ACD plays a vital role in advancing cooperation across six key pillars. Among them, the “Connectivity” pillar stood out during the discussions as a natural synergy with the DCO’s mission to promote inclusive and sustainable digital transformation across its own member countries.

H.E. Mr. Al Mutairi welcomed Mrs. AlYahya’s visit and praised the DCO’s dedication to digital progress. He underscored the importance of future joint initiatives focused on knowledge exchange, capacity building, and innovation—particularly in the areas of digital infrastructure and emerging technologies.

For her part, H.E. Mrs. AlYahya emphasized the value of multilateral cooperation in driving digital growth that benefits all. She expressed the DCO’s eagerness to work alongside the ACD to help close the digital divide and unlock the potential of digital economies throughout the region.

The two sides agreed on the importance of formalizing their cooperation, proposing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and establishing regular coordination between their Secretariats. They also discussed potential collaboration in upcoming regional and global events, signaling a shared vision for a more connected and digitally empowered Asia.
