Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit strongly condemned on Sunday the blatant attacks targeting Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar’s territorial waters, considering them a flagrant violation of international law.
In a statement, Aboul Gheit affirmed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain in confronting the subversive plots targeting its security and stability, following the Bahraini authorities’ announcement of the arrest of 41 individuals with ties to foreign entities who attempted to undermine the Kingdom’s security.
He expressed his absolute rejection of this “unjustified escalation,” warning that it could undermine diplomatic mediation efforts aimed at ending the conflict peacefully.
He cautioned that persisting in such aggressive actions could plunge the region into further chaos, emphasizing the Arab League’s full solidarity with the affected Gulf states in the measures they take to protect their security and preserve their sovereignty over their lands and waters.
