A splash of color: Young artists ignite creative brilliance at ‘NIRAM 2025’ painting festival

‘NIRAM 2025’, the annual Children’s Day Painting Competition organized by Kala (Art) Kuwait brought together young talents recently, at the Indian Community School Kuwait (ICSK), Khaitan.

The event, marking the 137th birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, also celebrated the 21st edition of this much-loved artistic tradition.

Students from Indian schools across Kuwait — and even children of Arab, Filipino, and Sri Lankan families studying in these schools —filled the venue with color, excitement, and creative energy.

Out of more than 3,120 registrations, 2,685 children actively participated, transforming the entire campus into a vibrant festival of art.

Clay sculpture competitions added to the excitement, and parents also joined in through an open canvas activity.

The event was inaugurated by Basheer Batha, in the presence of Kala (Art) Kuwait President Siva Kumar, General Convener Jiyash Abdul Kareem, Treasurer Ajith Kumar, Public Relations Convener Mukesh V. P., Noufal, executive members, conveners, and several prominent community leaders.

The program was compered by Aneecha Shyjith and Lincy George.

Well-known artists—Mr. Sasi Krishnan, Mr. Hari Chengannur, and Mr. Sunil Kulanada—oversaw the competition. More than 100 dedicated volunteers ensured the smooth running of the event.

Competition results will be announced on December 10, 2025, through leading newspapers and online platforms.

The award ceremony is scheduled for January 2026 at ICSK Khaitan, with the exact date to be announced later.
