A spellbinding journey on stage: FAIPS–DPS Grade 5 brings Harry Potter’s enchanted train to life

The auditorium of FAIPS–DPS Kuwait transformed into a realm of magic, imagination and youthful brilliance as the school celebrated the Grade 5 Annual Day on Thursday, January 15, 2025.

The morning unfolded as a dazzling display of talent and creativity, blending cinematic storytelling with vibrant performances that captivated the audience from start to finish.

Titled “Harry Potter’s Enchanted Train Journey,” the thematic presentation commenced at 9:30 a.m. and unfolded like a finely choreographed cinematic voyage. From the very first scene to the grand finale, the production held the audience spellbound, turning the auditorium into an enchanting world of fantasy and cultural exploration.

The event was honored by the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest, His Excellency Dr. Sied M. Jibril, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Kuwait, and the Guest of Honor, His Excellency Noshervan Lomtatidze, Ambassador of Georgia to the State of Kuwait.

The occasion was further graced by Dr. Amir Ahmed Kanjarandy, physician at KNPC, and Dr. Shaima Al Ansari, Representative from the Ministry of Education, Kuwait. Over 480 enthusiastic Grade 5 students, accompanied by their proud parents, added colour, warmth and vibrancy to the festive atmosphere.

The formal proceedings began on a dignified note with a soulful rendition of Tahe–Al Kuwait, followed by the Kuwait National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and reverence. A serene recitation from the Holy Quran lent spiritual depth to the occasion, after which the ceremonial lamp—symbolizing wisdom, enlightenment and divinity—was lit by the dignitaries and school leaders.

Welcoming the gathering, Principal Ravi Ayanoli extended heartfelt greetings to the guests, parents and students. He applauded the tireless efforts of the teachers who had meticulously prepared the program over two months and acknowledged the unwavering support of parents.

Emphasizing FAIPS–DPS’s holistic educational philosophy, he highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence alongside creativity, resilience and adaptability.

The celebration truly came alive with a captivating welcome song that set the tone for the magical journey. Iconic characters Harry, Ron and Hermione took centre stage, embarking on a quest to find the missing Professor Dumbledore. Their adventure carried the audience from King’s Cross Station in London across five vibrant destinations — USA, Hawaii, Spain, Korea and Thailand — before culminating at Hogwarts.
Through dynamic choreography, expressive storytelling, pulsating music and a mesmerizing murmuration sequence, the students showcased global cultures while immersing the audience in a thrilling magical narrative.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Dr. Jibril expressed deep admiration for the students’ talent and discipline, commending the school for instilling respect for teachers and parents. Stressing the enduring value of education in a rapidly evolving world, he encouraged students to pursue their goals with focus, perseverance and teamwork.
Ambassador Lomtatidze praised the exceptional performances and urged students and parents to explore global educational opportunities, highlighting the importance of cultural exposure and adaptability. He lauded FAIPS–DPS for fostering a diverse, inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
Dr. Amir Ahmed Kanjarandy described the event as a powerful reflection of the school’s commitment to holistic development, applauding the students’ energy and teamwork. He encouraged parents to continue supporting their children and to fully utilize the school’s enriching opportunities.
The celebration concluded with a high-energy grand finale—a spectacular fusion of rhythm, color and music — that left the audience exhilarated and applauding the remarkable talent on display. The program was seamlessly anchored by confident student emcees, adding charm and poise to the proceedings.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Headmistress Ms. Deepa Elizabeth George, who expressed sincere appreciation to all contributors. The Grade 5 Annual Day stood as a memorable celebration of magic, imagination and cultural harmony, leaving an indelible impression on all who witnessed it.
