Interior Minister checks on dog attack victims as authorities urge public vigilance

Two separate dog attacks that left a Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources employee and a citizen injured have prompted a follow-up by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, who visited both victims to check on their condition.

Al-Yousef visited the employee at Farwaniya Hospital after he was attacked by several stray dogs while carrying out his duties inside the Authority’s headquarters. The attack left him with multiple injuries. The minister was briefed on the employee’s treatment and medical progress and wished him a speedy recovery and good health.

Al-Yousef also visited a Kuwaiti woman who was attacked by a dog while entering her house. She suffered various injuries and was transferred to Al-Amiri Hospital, where she received medical treatment.

The Ministry of Interior said security authorities responded immediately to the report involving the citizen. The dog was found to belong to an individual, and a case of negligence has been registered against the owner of the dog. The necessary legal procedures are being taken.

With concerns over stray dogs and attacks posing a threat to public safety, the Ministry of Interior urged residents to remain vigilant and report dangerous situations or gatherings of stray dogs immediately by calling 112. The ministry asked callers to provide the exact location of the incident so that the relevant authorities can respond quickly and take the necessary measures to protect lives and maintain public safety.

The call for vigilance comes as authorities stress the importance of public cooperation in reporting dangerous animals and potential threats before they result in further injuries.
