PAFN shuts down shop, destroys 134 kilos of frozen meat sold as fresh

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, has shut down a food establishment for committing several serious violations, including the sale of spoiled and non-compliant food products.

The inspection was carried out by the Capital Governorate Inspection Department in cooperation with the Capital Governorate Security Directorate. Authorities found that the establishment was thawing frozen meat and selling it as fresh. Inspectors also recorded violations involving general hygiene, licenses and workers’ health certificates.

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 10 reports, the closure of the establishment and also destroyed 134.116 kilos of non-compliant food products. This was part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to protect consumer health and ensure the safety of food products sold in Kuwaiti markets.
