Police arrest Bangladeshi residence law violator reported missing by sponsor
Bayan police have arrested a Bangladeshi man on whom an absconding report had been filed by his sponsor 16 years ago. The man has been referred to the Administrative Deportation Department.
According to a security source, a police patrol spotted the suspicious looking man and when the latter saw the vehicle approaching him, he attempted to run on foot, but was overpowered and arrested.
During questioning, the man said he attempted to escape because he did not carry his Civil ID, which he claimed to have forgotten in his house. A subsequent fingerprint check revealed that he had been reported missing 16 years ago and was a violator of residence law.
