Technical workshop focuses on progress, gaps and challenges
Ali Dashti, the Acting Secretary-General of the Kuwait National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture, announced the organization of a technical workshop focusing on the progress, gaps, and challenges related to the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States, the Arab Center for Research and Studies, and with the participation of education experts from UNESCO Regional Center for the Gulf States and Yemen, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Dashti explained that the workshop was initiated as a follow-up to a 2015 meeting during the World Education Forum, where over 160 government delegations and 160 ministers of education and higher education participated. During this meeting, it was decided that all participating countries must submit a report on their progress towards achieving the SDGs. The purpose of the workshop was to equip national cadres with the necessary skills to prepare the national report specifically focusing on the fourth SDG, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
This initiative underscores Kuwait’s commitment to advancing education and contributing to the global effort towards achieving the SDGs. By collaborating with regional and international partners, Kuwait aims to address challenges and bridge gaps in education, ultimately working towards a future where quality education is accessible to all segments of society.
