50 KFF employees face trial over alleged 87,000-dinar public fund embezzlement
The Criminal Court has set September 15 to hear the case of 50 Kuwait Fire Force employees, who are accused of embezzling around 87,000 dinars in public funds.
The Public Prosecution charged the defendants with illegally obtaining financial benefits by using forged fingerprint attendance records to show that they had reported for duty and left work, despite allegedly not performing their assigned duties.
According to the case file, the alleged falsification of attendance records resulted in the disbursement of salaries and financial entitlements without legal justification, causing losses to public funds.
The defendants also face charges of forging official documents, specifically attendance and departure records of the General Fire Force, by entering inaccurate information and using the records as authentic documents.
Authorities said legal procedures were taken against the accused, including administrative penalties and measures to recover the allegedly misappropriated funds.
Meanwhile, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is also facing proceedings before the Ministers Court in connection with allegations of failing to report the suspected embezzlement case involving falsified attendance records at the KFF.
