Global technology company Zoho Corp. has officially launched its point-of-sale (POS) software, Zoho POS, across key Gulf markets including Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar, following its introduction in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2025.
The company said the new solution is designed to help retailers modernize operations, improve customer experiences, and meet evolving regulatory requirements in the region.
Hyther Nizam, Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) at Zoho, said Gulf retailers are increasingly adopting digital solutions to keep pace with changing consumer expectations and compliance requirements.
He noted that Zoho POS provides a locally relevant and compliant platform that enables businesses to streamline billing, inventory management, customer engagement and omnichannel retail operations from a single system.
Designed specifically for retail businesses, Zoho POS is a VAT-compliant platform that offers rapid deployment and a user-friendly interface, allowing retailers to begin operations within hours with minimal technical training.
The solution includes a native billing application for both Windows and macOS, along with offline functionality to ensure uninterrupted transactions during internet outages.
Retailers can also use the mobile POS application on Android and iOS devices to operate additional checkout counters or enable self-checkout during busy periods.
The web-based platform provides tools for inventory management, customer and vendor records, transaction tracking and real-time reporting on purchases, payments and receivables, helping businesses efficiently manage back-office operations. It also supports major retail hardware such as barcode scanners, weighing scales, printers, cash drawers, customer displays and payment terminals.
Zoho POS offers a fully localized Arabic interface with right-to-left support and Arabic invoice printing capabilities, while also supporting VAT compliance requirements across GCC markets through configurable tax settings.
Additional features such as loyalty programs, promotional offers and price management tools are aimed at helping retailers increase customer retention and encourage repeat purchases.
The platform integrates with several Zoho applications and third-party services, including accounting, shipping, e-commerce and customer communication solutions.
Zoho system complies with internationally recognized security, privacy and business continuity standards, including multiple ISO certifications and SOC 2 Type II compliance, while also meeting regional regulatory requirements in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
