CID men arrest 16 people, seize large quantity of narcotics
Personnel from the General Department for Drug Control has foiled an attempt to distribute more than 3 kilograms of narcotics and arrested 16 people of various nationalities in a series of anti-drug operations, the Ministry of Interior announced.
The arrests were made in connection with nine separate cases and all those arrested have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
The authorities seized 3.35 kilos of methamphetamine, 15 grams of heroin, 2 grams of synthetic cannabinoids, approximately 2,600 narcotic pills, and 96 sheets of paper soaked in a synthetic drug commonly known as “chemical.”
This is in addition to 2,502 Captagon pills, 21 tablets of other controlled substances, three precision weighing scales, and 960 dinars in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
