Major UAE carriers have cancelled several scheduled passenger flights between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait as regional security concerns continue to disrupt air travel across the Gulf.
Emirates announced the cancellation of all scheduled services between Dubai International Airport and Kuwait International Airport on July 20 and July 21. The affected Dubai–Kuwait flights are EK853, EK855, EK857 and EK859, while the return Kuwait–Dubai services EK854, EK856, EK858 and EK860 have also been cancelled on both days.
The airline advised passengers travelling on Emirates-operated services to check the latest flight status before departing for the airport. Travelers with codeshare bookings have been urged to verify schedules directly with the operating airline.
Meanwhile, Etihad Airways confirmed the cancellation of flights EY653 and EY654 between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Kuwait International Airport on July 19 and 20, citing operational reasons. The airline said it is assisting affected passengers with rebooking and alternative travel arrangements.
Etihad also urged customers to ensure their contact information is up to date to receive real-time notifications regarding flight changes via SMS and email.
Air Arabia has also been affected by the ongoing operational disruptions, with the airline advising passengers to monitor the latest travel updates and confirm the status of their flights before proceeding to the airport.
The flight cancellations come as airlines across the region continue to adjust schedules in response to the evolving security situation and temporary airspace restrictions. Passengers are advised to remain in close contact with their respective airlines for the latest travel advisories and rebooking options.
