Ministry of Health reports 1,724 emergency calls over holiday period

Public hospital emergency departments and the Sabah Al-Ahmad Emergency Center cared for 28,985 patients, while 79,412 sought medical attention at primary healthcare centers nationwide.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) reports robust patient care during the recent national holidays, with its medical facilities attending to a substantial influx of patients.

During the holiday period, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sinad, the official spokesperson of the MoH, disclosed that 79,412 patients sought medical attention at primary healthcare centers nationwide. The Ahmadi health area recorded the highest number of visits (22,837), trailed by the Farwaniya health area (14,455), and the Capital health area (10,824).

Dr. Al-Sinad further indicated that during the same period, emergency departments in public hospitals and the Sabah Al-Ahmad Emergency Center attended to 28,985 patients. The emergency department of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital recorded the highest number of visits (4,991), followed by the emergency departments of Farwaniya Hospital (4,760) and Jahra Hospital (4,681).

The MoH’s emergency medical services department efficiently managed 1,724 calls through its operations rooms and call center, facilitating the transportation of 1,223 patients via ambulance.

Dr. Al-Sinad praised the dedication and commitment of all healthcare workers for consistently delivering high-quality care throughout the year, particularly during holiday periods and vacations.
