26,881 various traffic citations in six days

Stationary and foot campaigns carried out by men from the General Traffic Department from the Feb 17 to Feb 23 of this month resulted in the issuance of 26,881 various traffic violations, and the arrest of 9 juveniles for driving without a driving license, 8 expatriates whose residency had expired were also arrested, 26 wanted persons wanted by law, a person in possession of drugs, and another for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

During the campaign the authorities also impounded 78 vehicles and 8 motorcycles.

Statistics from the General Traffic Department showed that it dealt with 317 serious accidents and 1,548 minor accidents during the same period.
