PAI closes 51 industrial plots in six areas over multiple violations

. . . 28 plots in Al-Mirqab, 12 in Al-Shuwaikh, seven in Amghara, two in Subhan, and one plot each in Al-Rai and Al-Mustaqbal.

The Public Authority for Industry (PAI) has issued a series of decisions ordering the closure of 51 industrial plots across six industrial zones in Kuwait due to a range of regulatory and operational violations.

According to decisions published in the official gazette, the closures affect 28 plots in Al-Mirqab, 12 in Al-Shuwaikh, seven in Amghara, two in Subhan, and one plot each in Al-Rai and Al-Mustaqbal.

The authority stated that the closures were imposed for several reasons, including the expiry of operating licenses, suspension of activities without authorization, construction of buildings without obtaining the required approvals, and encroachment on areas outside the designated plot boundaries.

Additional violations cited include the absence of valid fire safety licenses, the practice of industrial, commercial, and craft activities without proper permits, and the misuse or disposal of machinery, equipment, and materials that had been imported under customs duty exemptions for specific industrial purposes.

PAI has granted plot owners a one-month grace period from the date of closure to rectify the violations and comply with regulatory requirements, a local Arabic daily reports.

The authority stressed that failure to address the violations within the specified period will result in stricter legal and administrative measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
