Eight shops shut in Hawally over sale of counterfeit goods
Kuwait cracks down on fake branded products in retail raid

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has closed eight shops in Hawally after authorities seized large quantities of clothing and footwear bearing counterfeit international trademarks, in a coordinated operation aimed at protecting intellectual property rights.
The action was carried out by the ministry’s Capital Governorate Control Department in cooperation with the Hawalli Criminal Investigation Department.
Officials said the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to combat commercial fraud, protect consumers, and safeguard Kuwait’s reputation in international rankings related to anti-counterfeit enforcement and intellectual property protection.
Authorities confirmed that a formal report has been filed and legal procedures have been initiated against the violators, with further investigations currently underway.
