Trump declares Iran devastated, urges ships to sail through Hormuz ‘without fear’

US president Donald Trump declared that the United States had inflicted unprecedented damage on Iran, claiming Washington had “utterly destroyed” the country in a way no other nation had ever done before.

In an interview with Fox News today (Friday), the US president said, “We hit Iran harder than any country has been hit since World War II.”

Despite the strong remarks, Trump acknowledged that Tehran still retains some remaining capabilities. He stated that most of Iran’s missiles and drones had been destroyed and urged cargo ships to continue navigating through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, stressing that there was “nothing to fear.”

Trump also claimed that Iran no longer possesses meaningful naval power, asserting that US forces had sunk all of its ships. He further warned that Iran had previously sought to dominate the Middle East and expand its influence across the region, reports Al-Rai daily.

Commenting on Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said he believes he is still alive but suggested he may have been wounded, adding that the new leader “will have to prove himself.”
