Sheikh Jarrah, Marco Rubio discuss regional security, stress right to defend sovereignty
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received a telephone call on Thursday from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which both sides discussed recent regional developments and strongly condemned the Iranian aggression targeting Kuwait and other countries in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kuwait), the two officials stressed the right of the affected countries to take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty and territorial integrity, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The conversation also addressed the longstanding and strategic relations between Kuwait and the United States, with both sides discussing ways to further strengthen and develop cooperation between the two friendly nations.
